Traffic Rules Jamaica

General:
Jamaica has a well-developed road network, most of which is paved even on the secondary routes. In autumn, however, damage due to rainfall must always be expected. Most of the highways are operated by private companies and are subject to tolls. Driving at night is not recommended, as many cars drive without lights. Traffic is regulated similarly to England by numerous “roundabouts”, i.e. roundabouts.
Driving licence:
An international driving licence is recommended.
Promise limit:
Throughout Jamaica, the 0.5 blood alcohol limit applies.
Fines:
Vary from place to place, but failure to pay carries immediate jail time.
Similar traffic rules apply as everywhere else in Europe. Speed limits are 50 km/h in cities and 80 km/h on rural roads. On motorways, 120 km/h may also be driven. There is left-hand traffic.
